The longest standing push-fit fittings in my house have been there about 10 years so far with no issues. The main plumbing problem I have is cistern inlet valves: I think I'm on my third or even fourth one in 15 years. Most of the plumbing fittings like that I've bought are rated to about 70 or 80 psi, so I'm sure it doesn't help having 120+ psi water pressure. I fitted a pressure-reducing valve on the feed to the washing machine, but I really quite like having high pressure for the shower (and the hose outside which is like a slightly weedy pressure washer), so have resisted putting one anywhere else.
We had high water pressure in an old house, it used to smash the pipes, tried all sorts of anti hammer devices, expansion vessels and checking pipes were secured etc. Stuck a pressure reducing valve just after the stop tap and problem solved and still with good flow and pressure.

2 fire engines with pumps going couldn't keep up with it it finaly got turned off but not before causing 23 grands worth of damage flooding my garage and some of the house they got the bill and payed up no problem once I showed them all the pictures of the damage they caused
