and all these pictures and stories of doom and gloom and dangerous acetylene it could be avoided with 4 simple steps. check your equipment regularly for perished hoses and leaks . turn the bottles off after use.loosen the pressure of the regulators and purge the pipes and finaly anyone that cant be bothered is askin 4 it

Kind of why I preferred to get an oxy propane setup at home... and the cost of course !

the most dangerous thing i had in me shed was a 10lb propane bottle and torch . it was left turned on to the torch on the floor and must have been booted and turned on when leaving the garage. 3 days later went to use the torch and the bottle was empty no smell of gas in garage :dont know: went to use my pit a day later and the bloody thing was full of the propane gas i turned the electric off in the house and blew the gas out with a leaf blower . lesson learnt

And O2 isn't stenched so you potentially wouldn't notice a leak until you lit something in an oxygenated atmosphere...

All compressed gases are dangerous if you try hard enough, nitrous anyone?

This is often the cause of explosions in ships and boats, gas and diesel fumes etc in the bilges, cant smell it unless your at the lowest point.

I know of someone who works in his concrete section garage every day, smokes like a chimney, and most of the time with an open flame gas fire for heating.

He didn't turn off his bottles and managed to let a full bottle leak away and is still here to tell the tale
