Plug welding advice

Fellas,

Am practicing some plug welding before tackling a new sill and wanted to check that they are ok before starting.

This pic is of the reverse side (0.8mm) practice steel, the sill is 1mm.

Is this amount of penetration about right?

Looks good to me

Use self-tappers to keep things straight and close. Then whip-em out last and plug the holes too.
Get the line right to start with - you can always use a little filler at the joins, wheras if it's too high, there's not much to do to put it right - except chop and re-do it.
