Plenum Chamber

Guys. Heres the thing. Mk1 Escort total strip resto for pleasure on sunny days and shows. I need to get the plenum out of the way to get that pescy seam sorted out where it meets the bulkhead. (Forgot to mention, Pinto power) Question is, do i really need the complete chamber, none of it, some of it etc etc. The very front where i need to get to the seam looks like a suitable site for the pedal box reservoirs?? Thoughts.

Thoughts... do you want a heater? How smooth do you want the engine bay/bulkhead to be?

Nice reply, nice pics. the first ecactly shows the rust damage i need to get at. Does look pug ugly without the lid on eh? the second, never seen them mounted N/S before, good idea and cracking engine bay. Yes we will be refitting the heater even with the type 9 tunnel. My original thinking was to remove just the front section of the plenum, do the repair and then fabricate, french in as it were a mount for the reservoirs into the remaining panel.

Yep, throwing away the origional heater (or at least the fan) and replacing with something smaller/more modern would let you slim the plenum down more
