I bought a Clarke contractor one, it had a 2 year guarantee. I thought if a contractor can't kill it in 2 years, it's got to be tough. It's truly awful to use, the switch pinches your fingers, impossible to use in gloves. It's only saving grace is it's hugely powerful, over 1000 watts but it kicks like a mule when you switch it on. I reckon they are safe with the guarantee as no-one will use it.
That's what I bought. It must have a self destruct timer as it lasted just over 2 years.

. Though in their defence they were never designed to compete with corded grinders for duty cycle. However in their defence on the right job they are very handy.
