I have that habit, but it's usually engines and gearboxes and it's more distance than size or weight. I wanted some Polo Sport cams for my Golf so i bought a whole Polo Sport engine for £50 on eBay. Then drove from North London to North Wales to get it..
And sold the engine from my Audi and put "delivery available" on the listing. Sure enough the winner wanted it delivered to the peak district..
