hi there,
I am new to the from and was and have been looking around the forum and can see there are a lot of helpful people on here.
My question i am looking to add a 25ltr tank as a portable or permanent receiver to my small compressor

And was wondering how to going about it,as you can see it already has a non return valve on it so what else would i need and where would i get it from.

Any pictures you may have would help.

Connect a PCL plug (via a short flexible) to the NRV, this will allow you to fill the tank from an airline and disconnect without losing pressure.

Fix a PCL socket to the tank outlet so you can connect an airline to it.

You may want to fit a safety valve on there too.

Thorite are a good online source for parts.

sorry for the late reply rtbcomp that site looks good but now i am stuck to what size fittings i need i have roughly measured the threads and they are coming out at about 3/4 of an inch but most of the fittings are smaller than this so what would you suggest.

get some reducing nuts to suit whatever size u are using. have u got a crosling potter and cowan heating wholesalers near. they keep all the fittings for pipes

BSP sizes aren't the outside diameter of the thread. They're to do with bore of the pipe and fitting. The outside diameter of a 1/2" BSP thread is just over 3/4" so it looks like your fittings are 1/2" BSP, which seems quite common for receiver fittings.

what rtb comp says is a good idea .the only problem i see is u have an unloader tap off on the one way valve to one side .so if u are using that tank as the secondary tank u would have to blank it off

The outlet with no fitting,If it measures around 3/4" it will be a 1/2" bsp fitting you will need.

right i roughly measured the threads from inner walls,i tried one off the blanking off bolts that are on the dome part of the receiver and the fit in the take off and on the top of the bolt is has a marking saying 1/2 so i take that its a 1/2 thread.
would that be the same for the NRV even though it is an external thread?
