Yeah they will most likely be mounted downdraft, so I guess the carb only has one fuel inlet pipe and the two are warm water and breather? Why would a carb have a breather pipe though?
Thanks everybody
It has to have two water pipes surely ?? you have to have a flow.eah they will most likely be mounted downdraft, so I guess the carb only has one fuel inlet pipe and the two are warm water and breather? Why would a carb have a breather pipe though?
There has been several fatalities in the flying world, down to iced carbs and it happens at surprisingly high temperatures. The air was damp causing the sliders to stick making it run like poo. As Normspanners says by the time you've stopped to curse it it's thawed out and running ok again!
Also do the carbs have to be mounted down draft
that is down draftI wanted the intakes/stacks to be facing upward towards the bonnet.
mine are sat at 30 degrees as per the original bike.
Coz the golf was fuel injection it'll have a constant pressure, so you'll need regulator with a return.
Or you could replace the pump with a interrupter type (Facet etc).
Easiest way, fitted a set of the same carbs to a mates 2 litre capri. We initatially made a steel manifold, but after no end of carb freezing up he opted for a alloy manifold of ebay. Think we ended up drilling the main jets out to 1.8mm.
