Plastic headlights

I’ve my mot next week and I have those plastic headlights.
There tarnished and not very see through.
I’ve read somewhere that they can be polished, but I can’t remember what it was that was used to polish them.
Any ideas or suggestions as what to use or how to do it??

Depends how bad, either t cut/g4 or a fine sand then g4 to polish

Loads on youtube, they can usually be brought back to as new.

I've done a few. the amount of work depends on how bad they are, but they can all be brought back.
If really dull start off with 600 wet and dry or 320 dry paper, then finer grades, then finish off with G3 or the like.
The small 3" air polisher are perfect for the job otherwise lots of elbow grease.

If they're not that badly scratched then cheap kitchen cream cleaner works

Toothpaste or a cutting compound.
If can see an edge of the laquer then sometimes it's worth sanding it off properly and then polishing up.

Cheers chaps, will give the toothpaste a go to start with as the headlights aren’t to bad as yet.
