Id like to know if the film for aluminium sheet can be bought as it leaves no residue.
We had new upvc (white of all colours) where I do grinding. I have covered some of it with wh smiths clear plastic film to protect it and save wiping every 5 minutes. When gets too orange Ill peel it off stick some fresh on.
Sounds like Correx which you see on a lot of sites, I would not be using it around grinding sparks or welding spatter it is always used to protect floor coverings and fixtures towards the end of a fit out when all the really heavy work has been done. There's some interesting plastic sheeting called Proplex (or Antinox) in Wickes; its like thick (~3mm) corrugated carboard but made of some kind of tough plastic, very lightweight, cuts with scissors, joins with a stapler and is dirt cheap. It's intended use is to protect expensive surfaces when posh houses are being built. It's just about my skill level and I've made all kinds of stuff with it https://www.wickes.co.uk/Proplex-Black-Surface-Protection-Sheet-2400-x-1200-x-2mm/p/118670
