was welding a mk5 transit front jacking point today, 1 side was rotten so I attached the return lead for the plasma to the van to cut out the bad, I then made a template for the new part and drew it onto some 3mm plate and started to cut it out with the plasma but the arc kept stopping so I checked the air pressure, fine, adjusted the power setting still the same so I thought torch consumables worn out, fitted new ones still the same then all of a sudden Doh id left the return clamp on the van and was getting 3 seconds of pilot arc before it cut out , said a few choice words to myself put the clamp on the steel and carried on
