Plasma / Laser recommendations

Good morning,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a plasma / laser company that would be able to cut some profiles , the largest of which is approx 6500 X 300 X 20 thk
I am pricing up for a job at the moment, but never had requirement for the longer stuff before. The other pain is that the holes will be 14 dia, which means that they will need to
be drilled seperately (but if the positions could be etched that would help)
Its gone to Parkers for pricing , but could do with a couple of prices really

A bit out of your way, but they have shipped stuff around the country for us - Try Specialised Laser Products in South Yorkshire. They will drill in house, but I'm 99% sure their laser can do 14 though 20.
Wayne is your man there.

Presume you can't do it out of flat bar?

Thanks Paul,unfortunately not, they are profiled to produce a slight curve on them ( chord depth is about 100mm on the centre). Theres around 40 of them all with 6 14 dia holes in them.
There are also approx 560 smaller plates around 250 X 400 X 20 that each have 5 No 14 dia in , so not drilling would be a godsend

Don't they normally require hole diameters to be at least the thickness of the material? With laser, they'll definitely be able to etch positions on there.

M&H Laser in Tavistock are good. They've got up to date machines that I'm sure could cut a 14mm hole through 20mm plate. Have a close look at the picture on their homepage.

Yeah, used them in the past. I'll give them a ring about the smaller plates. Last time I was down there, I think their max bed size was 3m x 1.5 though

Our local processor is AJN Steelstock, they've a big boy hi-def plasma that can also mill, drill or etch.. not sure how big the bed is...

They were putting in (not sure if its running yet) a plasma/drill line that feeds the material along the long axis, so length is only limited to material length...

Says they can handle 12mx2.5m....

Didnt think of them . I buy a fair bit of steel from them too, I don't think they ever mentioned it. Another busy day tomorrow by the sounds of things.
