plasma king 50 melt down

Got a now defunked clarke plasma king 50, the two ceramic capacitors on the rectifier both melted doe's anyone know what other damage this may have done and what the value of the capacitors are so I can order and fit them, (solder on connections), would a lack of power have caused this as it was connected to a generator at the time, working in the wilds!.

Are the rectifier diodes still ok? Do you have any photos?

Inverters don't line gennys unless you have an AVR on them and they need to be rated significantly higher than the stated load.
So I suspect that that made the magic smoke leave the machine

Has all the funk gone out of it or is it defunct as in no longer functions ? Sorry but it made me laugh You need a massive generator to run any kind of welding or cutting equipment as rik says. Can you get boards for the machine if you can't find the values you need ? Plasmapart do some spares or repair machines.

its all the wilds out this way ! not much help with electronics but i have an old murex plasma if you can butcher for any parts ! where abouts are you ?

Anything else could have gone and, as Chris suggests, I'd definitely start with the diodes. One of mine had gone short circuit and that blasted a handful of other components on the board.
They're not difficult boards to troubleshoot and you'll be able to check most components in place.

I'm in Queensferry if you fancy a hand (although I'm away now until 2nd week in October).
