Bought a plasma king about 8 years ago used it for about half an hour cutting some light car body steel then put it away in storage dry in the house.
So I tried to use it for the first time in many years and it doesn’t work. I have no led indicators no arc start or anything. The fan works and this appears to have a delayed off timer but there are some hefty capacitor inside so those may be keeping the dc supply up and fan spinning.
Tried all the obvious stuff like reseating the connectors and check the 20mm glass fuse on the main board but it’s still dead.
Any ideas The instructions that come with it are poor and I remember having some trouble getting in running last time I used it. Not sure if there are any interlocks that may stop it working.
I’m really hoping to find some service information and hopefully a circuit diagram, so I can try and debug it. Given the construction with everything bolted down with heat sinks it doesn’t look like then easiest thing to work on or to power up and make measurement. I’m pretty familiar with switching mode power supplies and board repair but a diagram sure would help.
I think somebody told me in the past that these are good machines made in Italy but the construction internally looks Chinese with components and bodge wires tacked onto the main PCB.
Worse case anyone know of a U.K. service agent. Rather not send it to Clark as I remember they repaired it when it arrived new dead out the box but under warranty. The had it ages and it may have the same fault.
Any help or advise much appreciated
Regards Chris
