Guessing the error was its 3 phase which I dont think he mentioned...There Ok a few years old now wouldnt be worth going silly over.

Oh no just looked it the baby so it S/F only 30amp wouldnt do anything much over 10mm

Last sale stated 240V, so presumably some other error.

My old lincoln which was Inverter based simlar cutting size, but much much smaller machine, newer only 2 years old went for around £300.... Id punt at £250 max, If youve got 3 phase Id buy something big, your regret buying a 30amp machine I did and ended up buying twice.

Probably the usual reason for resale. Spends all the pennies on a plasma, then realises he needs to shell out some more money for a compressor to make it work. Missus finds out. All goes pear shaped.

I've got a 50A (or is it 40?) 3ph Cebora - big brother of that one. Decent machine, works. Will sever 1/2 inch if it's feeling enthusiastic. I imagine that one will comfortably work 6mm, sever 8-10.

Currently i'm compressorless too, so it useless .

Or maybe I'm just a bit cynical? You have to decide if it's worth the risk to you. It could be a genuine sale and it is 240V, but it's like playing poker, it's going to cost you to find out.

I generally find on Ebay that if the description is just a couple of lines then they have a reason for not telling everything.

A full description running to 20 or more lines will generally bring better prices...

actually, I've bought a couple of cars in recent years off ebay with short descriptions and low prices, used them for a few months, decided they're not what I want and sold them with a full description and made a profit of a hundred pounds on each of them.

get him to take a pic of the data plate on the back, that should tell you the voltage, amp range, etc.

ps: Do you need a compressor for all Plasma cutters ? even those chinese ones and German Rehmann sales types ? Dont seem to recall this being mentioned anywhere on the ebay sales ?

All plasma cutters need a source of compressed air. Most plasma cutters rely on an external source, usually a compressor. A few, the expensive ones, have a built-in compressor.

As it says on a Rehmann plasma cutter on fleabay at the moment:

Only electrical power and a conventional compressor are required. If the compressor provides less than 120 liters a minute
air capacity, pauses need to be made during cutting.

Well it made £292 no way would i take a punt on that sooner buy one from essex steam even if it is from the land of wonton
