I know a man who will lend me his pot of BelzonaBelzona is about the most expensive stuff you could chose. I have used Plastic Padding "Leak Fix" also Araldite epoxy, but did a Honda a couple of weeks ago with solder. Use Bakers flux or equiv, electricians flux is no good for steel and, for best results, float a copper or brass patch over, not pretty though.
When my VFR decided to spring a pin hole leak in the bottom at work I sealed it with "Leak Fix", was still sealing well 18months later when I picked up a better tank to replace it!Belzona is about the most expensive stuff you could chose. I have used Plastic Padding "Leak Fix" also Araldite epoxy.
That is what I did to my old bike - permanent repairClean it up, gently tap the holes low, tin it and solder/lead wipe.

Of course you don't use power tools to remove excess lead - hand tools only. One of the best methods is solder but it helps a lot if you use tinning butter.
This is a tank modification I did last year. The recessed area was filled in . The gray stuff is the tinning butter which you melt with a soft flame and solder over the top
