Its not the brightest but works fine on my small lathe
I just wear a 3 watt head torch, gives perfect illumination wherever I'm looking. you just need to be weary that some can strobe so can make machinery look like its not moving.
I managed to fit a work light to my Clarke pillar drill, a floor standing model. The head casting had a void just behind the front spindle. After purchasing a GU10 base off eBay, I made a bracket to attach it inside the void. I already had to hand a rocker switch, which I fitted by drilling & filing a rectangular slot in the side of the head casting. The job was completed by wiring up the switch & lamp base from the motor connections which were conveniently wired through the void. The purchase of a 5W GU10 LED completed the job & being LED it's super bright without any heat to affect the wiring.I have a draper pillar drill (230ish volt), it could really do with a work light, any info on make type supplier appreciated.

I have an LED head torch very effective, but you do get some strange looks on the bus into Grimsby when you forget to take it offYep I use my head torch(s) all the time .. well not so much in asda etc.. but older tired eyes work so much better with good lighting. Head torch puts the light exactly where its needed with no shadows
Where does the 12 volt come from?i bought a desk lamp at woodies,12v led and mounted it on my mill, works fine and is safe
