pie cut exhaust

First time doing anything like this on such thin tubing. its 14 ga 1.5 OD seamless steel tubing. I've never done tig welding and got a setup a couple months ago. Today I messed around with the concept of pie cuts with some free conduit pipe I picked up off craigslist and tacked it up with flux core just for the convenience. any tips or suggestions for my first time?

I think electrical conduit has some sort of zinc coating. Avoid breathing in the fumes when welding.

Marinate your pies in vinegar overnight and they might TIG weld better.

Personally I would suggest practicing on flat plate first

My advice is to avoid a pie cut exhaust unless you specifically want "the look". Its a lot of work and hassle. I use mandrel bends where possible now, much cleaner look and less time. Here's one I made earlier....
