Yabutt.....y'all made so many different gages.....Our normal gauge is the same as yours - after all we did invent the railways. Mind you Brunel introduced 7ft 1/4" gauge - shame it didn't win over - tank sizes in WW2 were limited due to rail loading gauge.

Donkeys years ago I watched a film of the Fraser Nash clubs trip to Italy called a raid on Stelvio Pass. The Italian police closed the road for them & went to escort them up. On the first hair pin bend, the police Alfas were spinning the inside wheel, the FN’s with the solid axle shot up the inside leaving the police very embarrassed.
