also had a ventora, 214ci straight six that had a crcked block, out that came and my first modified car was born when a 351 hemi was dropped in complete with the GM 3 speed auto. made a great car and sounded pretty cool as well

Sure it was a Ventora I tried to pass on me Bonnie (2 up) on the A1. Couldn't pass it but kept up with it. 1970s.

One of My friends tractors believed to be the only one in the country, built in Favasham all exported to Africa except this one that was donated to a cricket club. Based on a Massey super heavy duty but super basic, no electrics at all it has a cool inertia wind up starter( make sure it’s in neutral because it will start)

I have one of those, but the Daimler version, which has a tiny 2.5 litre V8.

When you see a Morris Minor in a parking space you realise how small they were. Many modern cars, esp 4x4s, overhang the spaces at the retail park by a couple of feet.

I was assuming somewhat on-looker friendly revs - I don't go much above 3000 rpm in mine in normal driving.

Double those revs, and yes, first is theoretically good for beyond the highest limit. You'd be watching the fuel gauge drop pretty rapidly though. I've had single figure mpg . . .
