Pic of my TIG welding

Here is a pic of my second attempt at TIG welding, The material is 1.5mm mild steel, the joint is, well i thinks its called a lap joint, one piece is on top of the other.
Its not the best of welds, but its much better than my first attempt
I tried welding two pieces at 90 degrees but it was awfull, lots of think weld and then a blow hole !
Practice practice practice !
Any advice on the 90 degree joint or the weld on my pic would be Appreciated.

By looking at the heat pattern, I would geuss you finished on the right side?
If so, to avoid blowing a hole at the end, take you finger off the button just before the end, not at it. This will avoid burning the thin plat. Good job, its getting there! theres hope yet

Keep it up! what are you practicing for? car bodywork or similar?

HI MigTig, Thankyou for your reply.
I've done another run since that pic, and im glad to say my ends are much better now
I will be going self employed in august (not as a welder ), But doing repairs and general Maintenance on anything I can work for, I'm not bad at Mig and stick, done that at work, but the Tig would come in handy, plus the fact i enjoy welding anyway..
I also have a little suzuki jeep which i'm "doing up" as a hobby, the back end wants welding so will be using my Tig to do that.. and hopfully some little jobs for my Future business.
May i compliment you on your stainless steel job.

Ok thats scary...

I am:
In the steps of buying a Suzuki Sj 410, and becoming self employed mobile repairer. I geuss we are in similar places then!
I will also be doing up the SJ jeep a bit, needs some minor welding work (who would buy something that needs welding eh? )

Scary indeed, but great minds think alike
I will not be welding my SJ just yet, unfortunately other things need to be done first, e.g., pleasing madam 3 Ducks by fitting a new bathroom.
I would like to take a few before and after pics when I get going.
Before I start, I will have to remove the tow bar, fuel tank and guard to again access the rear floor pan.
Been eyeing up some 1m/m mild steel plate on “that online auction”.

Here is a pic on my pride and joy! Have done a fair bit of work since this pic was taken last summertime.

your find it slightly more tricky to get the heat to the centre of the plate on the 90 degree(T joint), on scratch i take it your not hf and no footpedal you will have to hang about a touch longer initialy to get the heat in before moveing off, if i get time tommorow il set a couple of runs up and post them up.
