EDIT: just remembered I have a tiny short 32gig one at work... I can check it tomorrow, there might be a 128gig version - one I have is ancient so not holding out hope but worth a try

swap to a wire and use usb ssd m2 you will gain speed and easy to mess with

and they are tiny with the laptops

use my suggestion and you can use the m2 ssd they are cheap and easy to carry and because its a wire you can slot it to the side

cards are known to fail but the m2 will last

Might be the best solution, since the really low profile USB-A memory sticks are only possible because they have some of the memory electronics located inside the bit that prevents wrong insertion in the plug body itself. There isn't sufficient room inside the body of the USB-C connector.
