I often wonder if PB was playing the long game all along: spend years cultivating thousands of customers, with millions of pictures invested..... then whack a service charge on their captive audience. Well, it kinda backfired on them. Not sure about others but I never use the likes of PB to store my photos
PB was a means to an end as back in the day the only way to post photos on forums was to link the post to photos in PB or some other online facility
for your own photos that isnt a problem its when you want to share them then it becomes an issueI removed mine form PB ages ago and use my laptop or Postimage works well enough.
Now me being no big tech whiz, but would it not be better to store them on the PC or laptop and if need be a USB card if you have so many thousand.
thats because the sites didnt want to pay for space as it was so expensive at one time its still the same now but its paid for addons instead creating larger and larger space for users to upload there pics onto itNot sure about others but I never use the likes of PB to store my photos

can you imagine facebook to start charging for there images and storage instead of you getting it for free as they sell your data onto to othersI moved to Flickr which I pay for for unlimited storage. Tbh I think it's great. Flickr is just.....slicker. Tried Postimage, TinyPic, Imgur etc but couldn't get on with them.
I did though then go back and set up a paid for Photobucket account as I had & still have so much stuff on there. Accessing the free site was for me almost impossible with it's slowness and pop ups. No doubt deliberate! I'd expected to go onto the paid for PB site and be able to download complete albums easily with a view to then closing the account. From memory it wasn't that easy. Something happened and I forgot all about it. I'll have to take another look as I bet I'm still paying for it!
This is a timely reminder (duly thanked), for me to go and sort it out and move everything.
