Photo resizing

Does anyone know how can I resize images for free? I need to resize a picture from 200 pixels to 500 pixels.

I use Microsoft's resizer powertoy (for XP). It adds a resize option to the right click menu, so you can resize most images files from windows, without even opening them.

Very handy.

I use Irfanview as my image viewer. Works well and I use it to rotate, crop, resize and organize images.

try GIMP, or ImageMagic
I use ImageMagick now and again it's pretty good, great for doing multiple items.
I used to use Gimp on solaris for all image editing, but I haven't used it for a long time, I installed the windows version a few weeks ago, haven't used it yet, just started it and had look. It all still looks the same as the solaris version[which is good].

You will lose quality doing that much of an enlargement, but if you have to do it then I guess you have no choice but to accept that.

If its important, I have a program that runs inside photoshop, which allows you to increase an image size, but handles it a lot better than standard programs.
If you want me to have a go, either PM me with a link to the image or Email it to me

It depends on what format the image is and what software is used.

Why use an Illegal copy when GIMP is free and just as good.. the brushes for photoshop and other things still work in GIMP.

Didnt realise you were doing multiple photos.

Try ImageMagic, you can put all the images in a directory and do the lot in one command.

The IfanView I linked to earlier has batch mode where you can give it directories to work on.
