Agreed, and they can run other 3-phase gear as well, like when you accidentally win a big pillar drill on EvilBay... Pretty simple to build your own, too - you want a somewhat bigger motor, a few contactors and capacitors, Robert's one's parent's sibling. Dave H. (the other one)
Corks, look at the prices! My DIY RPC cost well under £200*, does 10HP... I think the wiring diagrams I posted should still be on here soewhere?
