4 pole are 1500 rpm 2 pole are 3000 rpm a 3 phase 240 v inverter would be cheapest and best for your aplication

4-pole 1440 RPM

A static converter might work, but you lose 1/3 the HP. May have starting issues. Single-phase might work, but might not have starting torque and is more complicated to reverse (if needed.)

An inverter phase converter would work, but 3kw gets expensive.

a static does work on lifts a 3hp model is 400 quid there are 2 firms selling both types best ring them for advice before shelling out large amounts of cash ps what u have to wach out for is solenoids and certain transformers cant be run on 240v 3 phase only 415

You would need about a 5hp 240v motor to replace it and a 4 pole motor.

Crikey, a 3HP/2.2kW Inverter, even a posh one like a Siemens Micromaster, is only 200 quid plus VAT!

look again in earlier post i put an inverter would be a lot cheaper for his aplication

will a 3kw inverter handle the startup drain and let me go up and down with load on the lift? i.e. same as running it on 3 phase.

and where can i get one from? i've had a snoot about on t'internet and have to say i'm not sure what to look for exactly

as an example, is this the sort of thing...?

look up 3 phase inverters on google theres drives direct and transwave. u can ring them without obligation and get the info u require and shop around its a bit of a minefield
