Peugot 208 2013 1.2 petrol clutch master to slave pipe leaking

The clutch pedal suddenly went to the floor wand would not return. I may have wrongly assumed it was a failed master cylinder which I replaced LUK part no 511 0097 10 which is also common on Nissan and a few other makes. The pipe from the master to slave cylinder was leaking at the master cylinder end, I took the old cylinder apart and looks to me like there is nothing wrong with it, no scoring or obvious wear on the piston or cylinder, according to the service record the master cylinder had been replaced less than two years ago. The slave cylinder looks ok and no obvious leaks around the pipe. On the end of the hydraulic pipe there is a nylon conical clip in collar which is supposed to have a small rubber seal on the tip to seal the flared metal pipe to the master cylinder, I was careful taking it apart and doubt I have lost the seal but maybe I did lose it. The main dealer in ROI is quoting 14 days delivery and needing a complete new pipe for 60 euro, non of the factors nor ECP/Autodoc etc can supply the seal. There is an ebay seller offering what looks like the correct part but according to his list its not suitable for the Peugot https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/188231764256? but is suitable for Vauxhall Audi VW Skoda etc, I suspect this part will fit the Peugot but will still have to wait a week to find out. Can I use ptfe tape as a temporary fix, I read that the dot4 may dissolve the tape or will it ? I suspect the rubber seal was not replaced when the previous cylinder was changed and some kind of temporary fix was done

When you say "seal" is it the O ring your after (that's what the eBay link points to). If so all the big shops (Screwfix, Toolstation, Halfords) do selection pack sets, from which you should be able to find one that fits.

The rubber seal on the end of the plastic coupler eventually wear out if the pipe has been moving (usually because it's not been clipped in).
I used to keep any good ends of pipes i changed, but not done any for a while, and not even sure if I still have any in my toolbox.

If your looking for the small seal that fits over the end of the pipe then that is available as a seperate part from VW dealers, our local TPS keep them in stock As to it fitting your car I can’t say

Years ago I did a clutch and slave on Vectra, it would not stop leaking from the joint at the gearbox

I was close to removing the box again to swap the pipe and realised the old seal was stuck in and with a new seal on the pipe it just leaked

Does the fitting on the pipe look like the one below?

If that's the fitting then a normal oring won't do it, the correct seal looks like this.

Dan Zac - I think the O ring shown on the ebay listing is for the slave cylinder end of the pipe. I already tried bunging the hole with one O ring to seat the swaged end of the pipe into master cylinder end then tried using two O rings but it did not work, it clicked into position well enough but leaked under load, I doubt my idea of using ptfe tape would work but might give it a try if I can't get the proper part from VW.

Melvyn I will try the VW main dealer on Monday morning.

Auto 44 yes thats the one, the top hat rubber seal I think is part no EC 215615, the ebay seller site says its for Audi VW Vauxhall and specifically states not suitable for the Peugot but he has several different listings all with different prices but all using EC 215615 so I think his website is wrong , I also found EC 215615 on Temu for euro 1.95 for two with free postage but delivery 22 May so I am hoping the VW main dealer has them in stock.

I am hoping it is not a fractured metal pipe as seems to have happened here as it looks a bugger of a job replacing the complete pipe with it looping along the bulkhead behind the engine ;

All this mucking about for a part probably costing 1p to make, the local Peugot main dealer quoted 250 euro labour to replace the pipe plus 60 euro for the pipe and they are so busy they could not do it for at least three weeks. Replacing the master clutch cylinder on the 208 would probably take less than an hour should everything go well but unfortunately it seems sods law has intervened.
