Evening All
Here's what I found wnen I took a lump of underseal and filler from my A30's petrol tank -
The stepped washer was inside the tank, with the larger one screwed to it to hold it in place, all covered with abovementioned filler.
The hole in the tank looks like a drain plug fitting has been wrenched off, and I'd quite like to replace it rather than just plate. So two questions - where can I find a suitable fitting and plug, and how should I go about fitting it? Obviously clean the tank first, but then weld/braze/solder? BTW that bright area round the hole is old solder, might be a clue ?? The brown bits are some kind of sealer that was on the inside of the 'repair'
Thanks for your help.
