There’s a few round here that are like that, fortunately the garage closest to me is generally the cheapest, or thereabouts. But there are some not too far away that are probably 15p/l (or more) dearer.

Unbelievably the local Shell garage seems to be the cheapest at the moment. There used to be a Shell station in the Potteries on the A500/A34 junction that was far cheaper than anywhere around, but it's recently (sometime in the last ten years) been taken over and now it's expensive again.

E10 steady at 157.9 for the last few days at my local.
Red diesel is similar to heating oil in that there is less tax on it.
That means that a larger % of the overall price of the fuel is the actual cost of the fuel without any taxes and fees added on.
That means the crude oil price will have a greater affect on the pump price of red diesel.
Heating oil has doubled in price since November 2025! Imagine what would happen if road diesel went up to £2.60 per litre!

13 litres is £20.01
Could work it out but I'm not
we turned our heating down a bit just to be safe... should have enough left to see us through to summer when we turn it off anyway
if we get low I'll see what the min amount we can order is... a normal fill is £1000 more than it used to be and I begrudge paying it

Is there 20% VAT on food oil for consumption- I don't think so...?
I don't think Rachel got anything to be honest...
Vegetable oil intended for human consumption (cooking oil) is generally zero-rated (0%) for VAT in the UK
