I was wondering after looking at all the pics and reading the advice given, the welder I have is a Cebora Tristar. All the settings are in digital format, press a button and the prog, thickness, wire speed and amps are all set by a tuner knob. When you turn the knob on one setting other settings change and that is what is confusing. It does act or have controls like the books.

I suppose it needs to be in mig setting, and put in whatever parameters it asks for. Then if it's synergic it does it all for you as you describe, change one setting and it will change all the rest itself.

I'm affraid i don't know much about them.

Pete, when creating a thread it's better to make the title relevant to your query, it helps people searching for info on a similar subject and also helps you keep track of your threads. You now have two threads titled 'Pete' which to anyone browsing might look like introductions, one being about penetration and now this one about your tristar. Anyone else browsing the forum won't know what they're about unless they read them.

Hello Wyn, yes you are dead right, thanks, the manual does refer to synergie, to be honest that means nowt to me. The books from library are good but about twenty yeras old.
