You can get hard coated polycarbonate to resist scratching.
It still scratches very easy and if you wash the car often usually wants replacing after a year or two 'cause you can't see through it any more.

You can polish plastic windows up nicely with Farécla G10, I used to do it with the molded one on my VW Caddy and it came up lovely but I had to do it every couple of months if I wanted it to remain as clear as possible.It still scratches very easy and if you wash the car often usually wants replacing after a year or two 'cause you can't see through it any more.

If you are using a plastic, Get some Lexan, you can smack i with hammers and it will just laugh at you,
As it was my back window I only did it every few months when it got so cloudy I couldn't tell who was behind me.I have to do it after every weekend but it only gets the fine ones out.
