Evening all. Just like to share a lovely find I had today at the local autojumble.
Had a wander round and on my return wander, carrier bag stuffed with fun I came round the back of a stall I'd seen earlier but missed some "floor items", one of which was this little hand shaper.
Been after one for a bit and this had £125 on it. Now it's all manual, no auto advancing with each stroke but that didn't bother me, it all worked was the main point.
I had in my mind to offer £100, spoke to the owner with the opener of "Whats your lowest on the little hand shaper?" Reply came back as "£100 to you".
I hadn't thought this far ahead actually and had to duck out to the cash machine but I came back and walked away with this lovely little bit of 1940's cast
Couldn't resist having a play with it "as is"
I then decided to clean it up a little bit.
This quickly got out of hand.
But after a degrease and a regrease, gib adjustment and reassemble:
Not sure how well the cleaning shows up on the pics, most of it was gunk and grime, really rather pleased! Need to make a new handle for the crossfeed however.
