Perforated panels

Perforated panels for balustrade infills. 2mm pre-galv. Need to put an edging on around the perimeter to hide the cut edge, allowing us to shear the panels from standard sheets. Edging to be mitred/welded then ppc.
I've seen the U shaped 'side-on' edging on the web, but not UK companies.

Anyone used a reputable supplier?

Cant you put a flat hemmed edge on them?

Can't you weld some 4mm round bar or similar to the cut edge? It would tidy it up and cover the sharp bits. Expanded metal company does the stuff specifically for the job.

The part holes on the sheared edge would still be visible on a hemmed edge.

What sort of tackle is needed to form the U shape. A fraction under 2mm internal dim.

Oh, panels made from perf sheet, not individually made panels with plain sheet left round the edges...

Not tried, but i imagine a 30deg tooling, then put into a crush folding tool to squash it onto the panel would work. Tedious if it a fair few. The proper stuff is roll formed, not know much about that

Yeah, to have them made with the plain border (The proper way of doing it) will take a couple of weeks to get them. Mr Client doesnt want to wait that long.

Some things are worth waiting for, i fancy some nice infill panels would be one of them....

cant you make some "safe edge" type stuff on a folder?
