LFT, I think PCR tests are only done by a professional, but could be wrong.

You can get home DIY PCR tests.

I have done two when the nearest testing center has been miles away.
Both negative as have been all my LFT's.
Been in a car with someone for 6 hours that tested positive that night.
No other known contacts with positive cases.

We all have slightly different immune systems, some have natural immunity. My niece is a nurse she's had covid twice once at the beginning before vaccine and then omicron while she's fully vaccinated, her boyfriend that she lives with hasn't had it once. A few people I know have been hit really hard by colds this winter, wearing masks and washing our hands may well help prevent us picking up bugs, but it also weakens our immune system.

i don't know if all the test kits are the same but how much would you trust something made in china! and covid was known about by government way before it was made public
as for the antivaxxers it's because of them that i cannot visit my father in hospital (not covid related illness) if everyone had not mixed/been in contact all of this would be a distant memory, a lot of people put their lives on hold and did the right things while others carried on regardless and wasted all efforts to stop this!

Over here a box of 5 home tests costs a tenner, and in 15 minutes you get a result. If your kids have been in contact, you get three, free, from the chemist.
