My pc has been playing up (6 years old and used a lot), think it's an overheat problem or on board graphics issue, done a major clean of the internals, battered everything with a screwdriver and reseated the chip fan with fresh coolant grease stuff and it seems ok for now.
I decided though to get a new one and saw a firm on Ebay selling them at a stupidly low price so bought one.
Came today and after I had resolved the no DVD drive issue by pushing the plug all the way home I was very impressed..BUT I have no sound from the rear plug or the front.
Put my old system back and sound is fine, back to the new and nothing.
It's running Windows 7, Intel motherboard and chip and I have Logitech speakers and base box.
Done the usual amateur checking if things are working on the systems tab, nothing appears to be muted so at a bit of a loss.
I am sure it's something simple I am missing but if any of you pc members can suggest further checks to make it will give me something to do on Boxing day.
Also another bit of clarification please, this one has a graphics card in, my old one ran on board graphics, does the card stop the on board video out from working or should they both give video out.
Thanks for any replies
