dittoBuy once cry once! I am only a hobby user but my DeWalt stuff is brilliant and I would only use genuine.

I agree with the first commentNothing wrong with a corded tools
Anything Battery powered is expensive and rubbish
It's immediately obvious there's not really a cartel going on with batteries when you add up what it would cost you to re-cell your own tool batteries even if you're bulk buying reputable lithium cells at trade prices.
I was interrupted by grandspawn's needs.I've never bought spare genuine batteries for various tools over the last 30 years. Ebay specials all the way, I've not been disappointed by one yet. Generally Makita or Bosch used for fairly intensive diy.
I have had a couple of dodgy genuine Bosch, 10 years ago maybe.

I've also never followed the rules about battery care. The ones about never leaving batteries in the tool, out of the tool, in the charger, out of the charger, fully charging them, part charging them, using them every day, not using them every day, etc, etc, etc. They always seem to last about 7 years, nicads, nimhs, whatever.
Don't know about the DeWalt ones but I got stung with Fakita batteries. I think one of the things that's a problem is a faulty battery management system in the packs which is vital. Bricking of Fakitas and FakeWalts possible? I just 'grab the nettle' and pay through the eyes.I am slowly going cordless for my home tool kit, All dewalt 18v stuff.
I have two DW 5.00amp hour batteries. so far Ive not run out mid job but think maybe another back up would help.
I've seen these and several other copies on Amazon etc
Has anybody got experience of these? claim the same capacity and a bit less than half the price.
I cant help noticing how much cheaper this would be than buying the tools with batteries
I've 2 which I thought I'd use the cases as adaptors.......4 years ago...with a couple of buckets full of dead ones (the majority of which are chinese copies) floating about in the unit that he cant bring himself to throw out
