Maybe I should have titled this "Thought Patons" (I'll get me coat).
I've been reading some of MiG Tutorial stuff about Wire Speed and Current settings and trying to relate it to my new welder.
Oddly, the default metering (left side) on the Paton for power level - is in Volts DC not Amps, but handily the concurrent wire speed display (right side) is already in metres/min.
It wasn't till I'd been welding with it and try ing different power levels - that I noticed that the LH display then adds the welding Amps to the DC Volts (So is this an actual measurement, or just a result of an algorithm calculated from the 2 settings... but if it was a calc, then surely itd be displayed all the time?).
Other features. The Paton has quite a lot of features, accessed (according to the manual) through a 5sec press of the Menu button.
Trouble is... is so far I can't seem to get into these extra features to navigate through them. Any Paton owners able to help me out here?
(I fancied seeing how the Inductance adjustment affected the welds at low current for thin panel welding - but the manuals not so clear and I'm probably doing something wrong).
