Paton EuroMIG 150

Good afternoon all.

I'm considering buying the Paton EuroMIG 150 and after reading the forum for the last few days, Paton seems to have a good reputation. I'm am a complete novice to welding. I have never attempted to weld before other than decades ago at school. The reason I want to learn how to weld is because I've got an old ford fiesta which is in need of quite a bit of welding. I'd like to learn and do this myself. I'll be working outside, under a tarp and read that gasless would be best for this, but would like the option of both. I won't be attempting to weld the car anytime soon, I'll be practicing on spare material before I go near the car. I didn't want to buy an Amazon special or similar or the entry level machines as I read that they can be harder for a novice to use when starting out. After quite a bit of back and forth I have the EuroMIG in mind. The lack of YouTube videos worry me a little with regards to setting the machine up etc. Do any of you guys have experience with the euro 150?

You will want to tear your head off doing car repairs with gasless. Get gas, something to block the wind and work on calm days!

Don't know much about the Paton but agree with what he says ^^
Remember to practice on scraps of same thickness steel, take your time and try to do much in one go. This bloke's videos will definitely help https://www.youtube.com/@fitzeesfabrications

As above, gasless is truly horrible for thin sheet & car repairs.

Im in the same boat. Completely new to welding and only interested in car repair.
I saw the Paton euro weld and standard weld kits around the £500 mark.
Rtech 181 around £750

And a mixture of SIP 160A, Clark mig,Tig,MMA and gys units. My head is burst.

Just looking for a solid and straightforward machine to help me get started.

Not interested in second hand either, but ideally looking at 95 argon or 93/5/2. I don't even know if there is a wrong choice, but multiple good ones.

Hi folks. Total newbie here looking to buy a budget machine to try out welding with.
U.K. based, running of 13 amp 240 home supply, welding outside 2 mm up to 6mm mild steel.
Cheap machine to get going I’m thinking.
If I get into it then I would upgrade later and if I’m terrible it can sit in the shed and I won’t feel to bad about it.

I’ve been looking at these 3 machines and would love feedback.

Hi all, I’m looking for some advice on what type of machine to buy for my needs.

I’m brand new to welding, but consider myself on the upper scale of handy. I’m looking to make my own ‘stuff’ for the garden, initially starting with mild steel lawn/bed edging (3mm thick, maybe thicker), and may move onto other things like fruit cages, troughs, water features etc. I have zero plans to do any car welding etc, so I guess what I’m saying is, rough looking welds don’t matter too much at the moment, but if I can pick up the skill, there’s loads of things I’d like to make.

Headux MIG 130 Synergic Pro

never used one but seen one in the shop. they seem ideal for cars and bodywork where you have to move the welder to the work and the steel is usually <3mm

An experienced welder I reckon could use any of the machines you mentioned. I have the Paton 250...only used it so far for stick but happy enough with the build quality.

For my car stuff I use a kemppi Evo 200...it's expensive but very easy to use as it's synergetic.

If you don't have a lot if experience I'd say synergetic is the way to go...on most you tell the machine the wire size and steel thickness and it sets up automatically.
