Hi,
I've got a non-structral wheel arch liner from my 1933 Singer Saloon I'm restoring. I want to keep as much as possible of the original metal, so I want to use my lovely new tig and plasma cutter to butt weld patches in place of the localised lacey bits, some in the middle of the panel which is approx .75mm thick.
Question!....assuming i can make any shape patch using templates, which would be best. I've seen in a book that a circular patch will provide uniform stress and hench less distortion.....but what does the hive mind think??
