Don't get me started on bl00dy PA(T) testing!
I'm a landlord of HMO's and everything has to be tested (part of the HMO license).
Now tell me, what part of a washing machine, or a 6 foot tall fridge/freezer is portable?!!!!
<pedant mode engaged>
Well Actually...... PA testing is a bit of a misnomer - the proper term is "in service inspection and testing of electrical equipment" - which covers several classes of equipment, portable being one, but there are also "stationary", "movable" and "hand held" amongst others, which include various appliances or pieces of larger equipment. Its just colloquially everybody refers to it as Portable Appliance Testing - or even more infuriating PAT Testing (i.e. Portable Appliance Testing Testing ). I know. I'm sad.
