passwords

Im struggling to get passwords off websites I'm registered with eg local council and frustratingly my motor insurers. I have registered a password with insurance, I get emails from them with policy details but am unable to login. They are not going to my spam or junk folders
Click on send a new password and nothing comes back. I can sort things out over the phone but no luck.I've tried reregistering with anew password and get this
'Password must include 12 or more characters, at least 1 upper case letter, at least 1 lower case letter, at least 1 number, at least 1 special character and not include a percentage (%) or ampersand (&) character.@ which I have been doing
This is driving me nuts

Are you trying to register the same email address again?
Assuming your password does actually meet the password requirements, you might be getting a misleading error message because the email address has already been registered.
Obviously the website should notify you of this, but sometimes they are badly designed.

Just a thought.

Something similar just happened to me with a site I only registered with to buy something quite expensive, as having an account can help if there are problems.

I got no confirmation/welcome email, no invoice, nothing to say it's on it's way or tracking number. All very odd and I started to think I might have been scammed!

Logged back into the site and checked my details and spotted I'd entered my email address wrong.

Edited that to a correct one and also went into my password manager and edited that as well.

Almost instantly I got a couple of marketing emails from them but still nothing else.

My conclusion is that I'll never get the other stuff cos their system sent them to the wrongly entered email that doesn't exist, and as far as it's concerned that job is done.

I've tried requesting it to resend them but nothing happens, I reckon I've scrambled the system for good now! Didn't bother calling them to sort it cos that'll most likely make things worse

Now patiently waiting for my purchase to turn up...............

If my pass word manager hadn't saved the incorrect email to auto log in with I'd have never been able to work it out.

dont always presume its your end it can be there end thats at fault

over the years you just tend to learn whats a good email address and whats not

hotmail and council dont mix and neither does hotmail and your local mp

ive known many companies and other places that have black listed email clients even if they are payed for to use ive seen them blocked
