I'm impressed. I've never done any arc welds which look as presentable as those. It's like you're already on the road to welds similar to FJ's.

well done on passing, hopefully will pass mine early next year.
do they specify the fillet size required? if so what size did you have to achieve?
what size rod did you use and what amperage?
did you grind out some of the end of the first run before starting the next one?

hi, started off with a 2.5 6013 root, capped with a 3.2. used a kempi inverter. heat was with the root around 70-80 and capped with arond 95-105. i had to stop halfway on the first run, my tutor had a butchers, then i carried on. it was done on 6ml plate. next i will be doing but weld then and over lap. then ill be on to mig or or tig.

you should be ok, have you access to any welding sets at home? get some practice in.

forgot to mension, do a weave with the cap and pause at each end, like a c shape. and thanks to everyone who commented. my tutor siad it was a good restart
