Hi all,
Apologies if this is in the wrong place. I have just bought my first TIG welder (above); I've only done a bit of MIG before but I decided to take the plunge. The set came with a ECO Grip 17 torch and there were no consumables. I trotted off to the local Eng Weld to sort this, but I am having trouble. Bearing in mind that I know very little about this welder, I fitted collet body, collet etc but the long back cap won't screw in sufficiently and I can still see the O ring - Last night I tried to strike up and wound up with a sooty mess and melted electrode, I tried again tonight after some fiddling and got the same result - there seems to be no gas shield (O ring not sealing).
I would obviously like to get all of the correct bits that are designed to fit together properly - it looks like the collet may be too long.
Can someone please point me to where I can get the correct bits (ideally a gas lens) so that I can have another go. Do I need to get the Parweld items specifically?
Thanks
