hi im 17 new to the forum i was wondering if anyone has any experience with the parweld xti140 inverter(can pick 1 up new for 300euros) or any of the electroweld red line inverters (500euro for 140amp) , iv used a parweld before and found it did the job but this is 1st time came across electro weld all conments welcome
nope but i should be in wfc next week if im working get some then, dats if im working though things pretty bad here only geting few days here and there latley
there is a company in dublin electroweld ltd which imports kestra machines and rebadges them! personallly i hate electro weld with passion i burned out two kestra 250 amp air cooleds by running them at high amps. got about two minutes of welding then duty cycle was up which left 8 mins for cooling. after two weeks of that the first one calved, and they were the neighbours machines. having learned on the oil cooled i was given by my granfather i soon went and bought a reconditioned one ( a spare i will prob never need, but is always handy to have a backup). 500euro thats definately a creamery price. 40% duty cycle at 140amp on the electroweld so its not mighty and it will badly run a 4mm. id go for the parweld as they are a good name. look up jackson engineering in the yellow pages there in castlebar, there a oerlikon dealer and they are a truly excellent machine, i think its around 600euro for a 200amp oerlikon and its at 60% duty cylce too as far as i know. sorry bout the waffling
Electroweld I think are just an import Company that re badge machines and rods
danny boy you could try giving kws a ring they usually have a good range of secondhand machines as well. there is some used machines on their web site if you download the file you can see them you could also try walsh eng
weldequip is also a welding supplier and gives a very good service and good deal I bought one of mind from him
€300 doesn't seem a bad price but I'm not sure how reliable they are also check the there is a backup service in case it breaks down
like oilcooled said stay away from air cooled transformers as they are AC and they are not nice to weld with and very poor duty cycle usually . oil cooled welders are also AC but are much better quality transformers
inverters are usually DC and really nice to weld with
