I see that weldequipe offers a regulator to suit the GYS 162 . The reg comes with a gas connecting hose and fittings so does this mean that the GYS doesn't come with the parts needed to connect the reg to the mig ?
It does say they're supplied gasless, the gas upgrade kit appears to be needed and includes the gear to run off a CO2 bottle or industrial argon mix.
So it looks like if you just buy the machine alone then you won't have anything with it to connect it to a gas supply.
Have you already got a regulator and gas, and aren't wanting to buy something you already have and don't need?
No I've got the mig and it came with a black hose so I'm guessing it might be for a gas reg to mig pipe?
I'm not sure what you need to do to allow it to run on gas rather than gasless . I've ordered a argon/co2 reg and am getting a bottle of argonsheild from BOC
But just didn't really think the instructions were very helpful.
So hoped someone with the same model could give me a bit of s heads up
Well I can't think of anything else it would be so yes, it must be. I keep eyeing up these welders myself but can't bring myself to fork out the money!
You'll just need to connect it to your regulator. I think you'll need to measure the internal diameter of the pipe and get a hosetail connector for that size with the required thread to fit your regulator.
Consider buying a 'pea shooter' type of flow meter to use as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Argon-Tig...165?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item258839acfd as they're more accurate than anything built into a regulator and will usually save you gas in the long run.
