Lentil dahl recipe...?

Me and wifey have been cooking bread Asian/Jewish/Western in the lockdown.

Flat bread - unleavened bread - plus UK finest white loaf.


Wifeys attempt at lentil dahl was poor (keep this comment quite - or I am dead...).


I like Dahl this with - Roti... (correct my spelling)... ?

When I have been to India - with "posh friends" on trips out/business trips - waiting staff have "fussed about me" when I have ordered this plain dish... I like plain - filling food...

Parm! I have points to score here - in house - help me out....

Right, I’m here. Guess what. I’ve been prepping for a few dinners.

Dough for flat bread pizza Tommorow. Sourdough for bread on Friday and pastry for homemade Cornish pasties tonight.

Ok, dhall is very very easy and correct spelling of roti.

All Dhall cooks different, some need long slow cooking and still remain whole, others turn to mush if over cooked.

If you can be good enough to tell me what dhall you have I’ll oblige with some instruction, it’s very very easy

Also do you have a slow cooker!

You can order the spices you don’t have by post to save going to a main supermarket I cannot recommend her YouTube channel enough

my former boss took me there for dinner and the food was unbelievable. In my mates restaurant he even uses one of her recipes on his menu

I cook the lentils til soft, along with spices to your taste, a finely chopped onion and have been known to chuck coconut cream in.

My wife and mother do it differently.

Lentils in currys, soups, well most things...
