Parkside (Lidl) Inverter Welder: Any Good?

Hey guys, my da just bought a €100 inverter welder from Lidl.

Could anyone tell me if he's wasted his money?

They have good warranties on them i think so he's not wasted his money.

As Sardine mentions, you have a good 3 year warranty, you have paid little more than many paid for one of the buzz box machines so yes I would say it was an ok deal.

If it lasts 3 years you have had a great deal and if it blows up you will have had some use and get all your money back.

It will burn 2.5mm rods fine

If you think about it, for DIY jobs how many would be impossible without a 3.2 ?

You can always vee out and put down a couple of passes.

You can weld inch thick plate with 2.5mm rods. You'd be there a very long time building up the required weld size, but any thickness can be done.

What are the masks like ? Any good ? I have some parkside stuff and its either great or complete junk.

Masks look like the normal low end Chinese stuff, be OK for mig and stick

Mate said the one near us had some in, I should imagine they were a good seller though.

Is it not similar to Aldi in that they also do online sales for a lot of their non food goodies?

Yeah correct, just asked him and it was the big display announcement in the shop he was referring to.

He is intending to buy one so will be interesting to give it a blast.
