Hello, I parked in Harlow Water Gardens shopping centre in early April. Shopped in ASDA, got the free voucher for parking. Paid the parking bill with the voucher.
Today I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus (DRP) saying they've been instructed to collect £125 from me "YOU OWE £125".
It tells me I have missed two payment deadlines already.
As 1) I paid the parking fee at the time and 2) this is the first time I have heard anything about this, I'm rather annoyed.
From the Martin Lewis website I can see that the Parking Charge Notice is really an invoice for parking, unlike the similar sounding Penalty Charge Notice which is the official one that needs paying.
I read the reviews for Horizon Parking and Debt Recovery Plus. Everyone gives one star because they can't give zero or minus.
My plan is to ignore it. I have complained to the British Parking Association (BPA) although I expect I wasted my breath.
Because I didn't receive any paperwork (all done by ANPR) I have missed the deadline to appeal. Similarly I don't have the 12 digit number needed to send an appeal to PoPLA because I didn't get the paperwork.
One lot missing in the post is possible, but two? DRP's letter found me OK. The first two were most likely never sent.
Even worse, the DVLA will hand out your name and address for £2.50. Horizon Parking made thousands and thousands of requests for information from the DVLA at £2.50 a pop. No wonder the DVLA are selling our information.
Anyone else had this sort of aggro?
How do I stop the DVLA selling my information?
