Thanks - I definitely have learned a lot I am in the middle of restoring my Mini and smashing out home made repair pieces all the time now. I have learnt how to fabricate and my welding has improved dramatically along the way :-)Top job. So what if you could have bought one - a learning project that's useful can't be bad.
Great work. I have been following your progress both on here and the Mini forum. I don't have a Mini but I came across the Mini forum when I was googling something and was amazed at what a great resource it was for any car restoration. Really friendly folk over there too.
Some of the restos of very, very rusty Minis are inspiring. It was a while before I realised it was you on both forums though! It is impressive how your skills have developed through your project. I wish I had your dedication and application.
Thanks plantlife are you on The Mini Forum, my project thread has some more Fabrication here also check out the Retrorides Panel Making thread, which is where I got the original inspiration.Excellent thread. My metal working skills are limited, but I'm learning as i go. I've an old morris mini too. Loads of useful tips in this thread, thank you.
