I have a very good book for paint spraying. Can't find it at the moment but from memory it's called "Vehicle Painter's Notes" by Peter Child (ISBN 0-632-01873-9). How about that for memory
I couldn't find any websites for paint spraying and thought about starting one up, but the whole health and safety and lawyer thing put me off. With the new laws appearing every day I'm not sure we're allowed to do it any more. My next paint job will definately be the original factory paint!
Post away in the brew room - I'll be able to look up the answer in my book and look clever.
One thing that's reasonably important is matching the gun to the compressor. The guns you get with those £25 Clarke kits don't seem ideally suited to most DIY compressors. Too high air flow. Ones with smaller nozzles are available for smaller compressors. The one I bought cost about £60, but it really improved my paint finish - previously there was nowhere between orange peel and drips.
That reminds me of the Renault 4 van that my dad used to have.... must have been 1976! Blue I believe. Me & my brother used to sit in the back unrestrained
How do I go about getting hold of one as the next project??
Here's a list of places to look and a buyers guide. You'll have to hurry - we're running out of Renault 4s in this country mostly due to tin worm in the rear suspension mountings. Plenty still around in Europe, especially Portugal and Croatia.
